XeeXR Methodology
Remote Assistance via a standalone VR headset and a browser-based dashboard
XeeXR Remote Assistance consists of two components: a standalone VR headset in the field and a dashboard for the remote guide that is accessed entirely through the browser. The XeeXR app runs on the headset and directly connects the employee to the dashboard.
The employee views their physical environment through the headset and receives visual instructions directly within their field of view. Components are pointed out, points of attention are marked, and relevant information is made visible at the exact location where the work is being performed. The employee works fully hands-free and remains focused on the task.
The remote guide views the session live via the browser-based dashboard, which is accessible on desktop, tablet, smartphone, and, if desired, also within a VR headset as a large screen. From the dashboard, guidance is managed and visual support is added, while complexity is deliberately kept out of the work environment.
This combination makes guidance demonstrably more effective. Research and practical experience show that visually supported tasks can be performed up to 50% faster and more efficiently. The standalone VR headset functions as a full-fledged work device, with all required processing power, cameras, audio, and network connectivity integrated into a single device.
