VR Streaming Solution for Standalone VR Headsets

Streaming has become a structural communication layer within modern organizations. Video meetings and remote desktop tools make information location-independent. A VR streaming solution adds something fundamentally different: the ability to share the actual field of view of a user inside a standalone VR headset.

As a result, streaming shifts from transferring information to transferring context. Not only data is shared, but the complete visual situation in which someone is working or training.

XeeXR by GOTOVIAR is designed as a specialized VR streaming solution that connects standalone VR headsets to a browser-based dashboard. This enables VR to be deployed across locations without complex IT implementations.

Why a VR streaming solution becomes essential

When working with standalone VR headsets, one question inevitably arises: how can someone else see in real time what the user sees?

Many organizations rely on local casting. This works as long as everyone is in the same room and on the same network. However, once locations differ, limitations appear. Moreover, this setup does not scale across distributed teams or international operations.

A VR streaming solution removes that dependency. The headset streams securely over the internet to a centralized dashboard. The recipient simply opens the session in a browser and views it live. Consequently, VR becomes usable across distributed organizational structures.

How the VR streaming solution works

Within the architecture, the standalone VR headset functions as the sender. A XeeXR application runs on the device and transmits live video and audio over the internet.

This may include:

During an active session, exactly what the user sees is shared. At the same time, two-way audio is available. Therefore, direct interaction takes place within the same visual context.

The headset focuses on transmitting. Session control and interaction take place in the dashboard, which keeps the system structured and scalable.

The browser-based dashboard

On the receiving side, the XeeXR dashboard provides the central interface.

The dashboard is fully browser-based and works best in Google Chrome. No additional installation is required. As a result, the solution integrates smoothly into existing IT work environments.

Within the dashboard:

You log in, open a session and immediately see what is being streamed from the standalone VR headset. The dashboard forms the operational link between the headset and the organization.

Viewing via Desktop

On a desktop or laptop, the dashboard opens directly in the browser. Once the session is active, the live stream appears instantly.

During the session, communication takes place via integrated audio. Everything runs within the browser, eliminating additional installations. Consequently, IT impact remains minimal and deployment is straightforward.

Streaming Video from Pico 4 Enterprise to Desktop

In this video, we stream live from a Pico 4 Enterprise headset to the XeeXR dashboard on desktop.

We present several demo environments from the Pico Enterprise App Store and demonstrate our Remote Guidance solution in practice. These platforms clearly illustrate the professional quality and maturity of modern enterprise VR applications.

XeeXR acts as the streaming layer between headset and dashboard, enabling real-time, location-independent guidance.

Viewing via Smartphone and Tablet

The dashboard can also be accessed via the browser on a smartphone or tablet.

When opened on mobile, the interface automatically switches to landscape mode. This ensures that the stream is displayed horizontally and full-screen.

The advantage is clear: even while traveling or between meetings, users can join an active session. Engagement is no longer limited to a fixed workstation.

Viewing inside a Standalone VR Headset

The dashboard can also be opened in the browser of another standalone VR headset.

In this case, the live stream appears on a large virtual screen within the VR environment. The stream itself remains 2D, yet the viewing experience becomes more immersive. The underlying streaming principle remains unchanged.

Streaming Video from Pico 4 Enterprise to a VR Headset

In this video, we stream live from a Pico 4 Enterprise headset to the XeeXR dashboard, which is opened inside a Meta VR headset.

We showcase several demo environments from the Pico Enterprise App Store and use our Remote Guidance solution as an example. These are highly professional and well-developed VR platforms that clearly demonstrate how mature enterprise VR has become.

XeeXR functions as the streaming layer between the Pico headset and the Meta VR headset, making it possible to guide and monitor these environments in real time, independent of location.

VR streaming solution versus local VR casting

Traditional VR casting operates within the same network and physical location. It is suitable for demonstrations or guidance in a single room.

In contrast, a VR streaming solution operates over the internet. The sender and receiver do not need to be in the same location. As a result, guidance becomes possible across buildings, cities or countries.

The difference is not in image quality, but in reach, scalability and organizational flexibility.

Practical scenario

An employee uses a standalone VR headset at a remote site and starts a streaming session.

At another location, an expert opens the dashboard in the browser. The expert sees in real time what is happening and communicates through audio.

Both parties are located in different places and on different networks. Nevertheless, they share the same visual context. Therefore, support becomes immediate and scalable.

What does this mean for your organization?

A VR streaming solution determines whether VR remains confined to a single room or becomes a scalable communication layer across your organization.

Within GOTOVIAR, XeeXR is positioned as a specialized solution that expands into two complementary directions:

If you would like to explore where streaming from standalone VR headsets can create strategic value within your organization, we invite you to schedule an introductory meeting or strategic exploration session with GOTOVIAR.

During this conversation, we analyze your processes, infrastructure and use cases to determine where XeeXR fits logically and delivers measurable impact.
